Just launched: The Ideas Blog

Welcome to the ideas blog!

The ideas blog is a place for sharing great ideas, covering all aspects of business and professional development.  You can find out a little more about the idea behind this blog by reading this.

As many of you will already know, I write a very popular marketing blog.  However, there are powerful ideas that I want to share with you, which are outside the remit of marketing.  This blog has been created, so that I can share these ideas with you.

It has often been said that just one great idea can transform our future forever; turning frustration into success and apprehension into excitement.  The aim of this blog, is for it to help as many people as possible find as many great ideas as possible.

If, like me, you are always looking for new ideas, please subscribe to my RSS feed or enter your email address into the box on the right and have each new post delivered straight to your inbox.  You can also join the ideas blog on Twitter, by clicking the Twitter link on the right.

Jim you don’t miss a beat. Great idea. Quite similar to what I’m doing with http://alikeminds.org in some ways.

I’m looking forward to some great discussion here :-)

      Hello Scott,

Thanks for that. I hope you find it useful.

I actually bought the url about 18 months / 2 years ago. Back then, I simply didn’t have the time to post regular content – now I have so here we are!

      Hello Jayne,

Thanks for the feedback and the good wishes. I agree with you 100% about the value of sharing great ideas.

I spend a lot of time looking for answers for my clients and for myself. Hopefully, like-minded people will find this blog a useful resource when searching for ideas and answers.

    Jim,
Great idea but have you thought about reversing the authors from you to other people who have been helped? Instead of Social MEdia think of it as Social YOUdia.

If you’ve ever seen Pay It Forward you could define some simple criteria for allowing people to post ideas that were given to them:

    1) You found a compelling idea
    2) You are fairly certain it originated with that person
    3) You used it and have results

    Just a thought…uh, idea!

      Hi Dale,

Thanks for the feedback – much appreciated.

As I say in the about page, the ideas here will be from many, many different people – not just me. In fact, one of the benefits of this blog, will be that it will help people find new sources of ideas. Thanks again for the ideas.

    Great … idea :-)

I am looking forward to reading all about your ideas here. Maybe I will find inspiration for the “What If” blog I started last week. It’s a bit similar to this ideas blog. Hopefully we can both encourage people to start thinking about their own ideas.

    Good luck, Marc

Another terrific idea Jim, and I look forward to getting the emails drop into my inbox with the posts in them.

Just out of interest, are you launching another blog using traditional media so you can make a comparison of stats/postings/conversions?

    Anyway, looking forward to reading.

      Hello Sarah,

Launching another blog? I already write three!! ;)

There’s a post on my marketing blog right now, that explains how I used social media for this blogs launch. If I ever decide to add a 4th blog to the mix, I will stick with social media marketing. It worked beautifully, was easy to scale and was a MASSIVE amount of fun too.

Thanks for the comment Sarah and for subscribing to the blog’s RSS feed.
