Here’s a quick tip for anyone buying a new Wordpress blog theme, who is not a coder.

Never buy a theme based exclusively on the promises made on the theme’s website.  Always check out other blogs using that theme.  If they tend to look very similar, it’s highly possible that the theme might be hard to customise.

Equally, if they mention anywhere that their blog was either designed, customised or configured by someone else, it’s a sign that they had to hire specialist help to get the look / functionality they wanted.
